THE STORY:
Macular Degeneration Sucks.
It's a total drag, and I guarantee that you know someone who has this disease. If you don't know someone currently--you will. It's simply a matter of time.
Not familiar? Never heard of it? Please keep reading.
This disease results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field (the macula) because of damage to the retina. It is a major cause of blindness and visual impairment. Macular Degeneration can make it difficult or impossible to read or recognize faces.

Unfortunately, there is currently no medical or surgical treatment available for this condition.
Fortunately, there are heroes working tirelessly at The Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary to find a cure for this disease.
I will be running in the 2015 Boston Marathon on Team Eye & Ear to raise funds which will allow these heroes to continue their progress in finding a cure for those who have been stricken by this disease. I am running also to raise hope and a healthier future for people everywhere who suffer from debilitating conditions affecting their sight.
I am humbled and honored to participate in the 2015 Boston Marathon as a member of the Mass General Team Eye & Ear. Please consider showing your support for me and my team.
SEE you at the finish line!
I hope you have the best day ever,
Norm
