What's the difference between raising money for a charity and raising money for an individual?

Raising money for a charity means that you are setting up a fundraiser to benefit a 501(c)3 charity. The money you raise will go directly to the charity you choose and we take care of getting the funds to your cause. So easy.

Raising money for a person means that you are setting up a fundraiser to benefit any cause for good of your choice. Could be anything from medical bills, to a person you know who's in need, an animal, tuition, a volunteer trip, recovery from an accident, a house fire, etc. When you choose to set up this type of fundraiser, you are required to attach your bank account to the fundraiser and are responsible for getting the funds to the person or cause that you're raising money for. Sorry for that preposition at the end of the sentence. Don't tell my English teacher Mrs. Inza.
