At BabyCenter, our mission is moms. When we help a mother, we also help her children, her family, and her community—anywhere around the world. That’s why we partner with inspiring organizations like mothers2mothers (m2m), which provides support and education to HIV-positive pregnant women and mothers in sub-Saharan Africa.
While pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the developed world, it’s still a major threat to mothers and children in sub-Saharan Africa. AIDS is a leading cause of maternal death, and each day nearly 600 babies are exposed to HIV during birth, with infection rates as high as 45 percent.
With your support, m2m can extend its support and education plans, helping thousands of mothers and babies manage their risks, get proper treatment, and live longer, healthier lives.
Even a few dollars makes a difference—especially now. From now through Dec. 5, the Skoll Foundation has earmarked $3 million for this effort and will be challenging us to hit milestones each week. Your donation could help provide years of education, care, and support for these at-risk families.
Thank you for extending the hand of friendship to mothers on the other side of the world.
