A Little More about JP HRO and Help Haiti Home:
Founded by Sean Penn immediately after the 2010 earthquake. J/P HRO is managing programs in Camp Management, Medical, Rubble Removal, Community and Education, Redevelopment, & Emergency Response Operations. From the beginning they have been a leader in responding to the urgent needs of the Haitian People, while relentlessly pursuing sustainable solutions for development. They believe that emergency relief in Haiti goes hand-in-glove with economic development & reconstruction. When you donate to J/P HRO, you are directly improving the lives of Haitians.
J/P Haitian Relief Organization wrote -
Petionville Camp is a tent city and temporary home to 18,220 displaced people from the 2010 Haiti earthquake. The neighborhoods camp residents lived in before the earthquake border the edges of the camp; these people are so close to their former homes yet they remain homeless. With little to no means, they cannot afford to get their families out of camp and back home. J/P HRO works to make living conditions in the camp better like providing medical care, schooling for children and community programs. But J/P HRO’s main objective is to help these people get home. For the Haitian people home is dignity, jobs, education, good health, family, creativity and a better future for their country.
J/P HRO is on the ground in Haiti clearing rubble, fixing earthquake damaged homes, helping families move out of tents one a time, building jobs programs, revitalizing schools, developing public health programs and working side by side with the Haitian people and the Haitian government to solve the nation's problems.
On average, it costs about $1300* per person to make the journey from camp to home. This covers the cost of rebuilding homes and revitalizing schools, clinics and other community services; as well the cost of rubble and debris removal. Millions of square feet of rubble still clog the streets of Port-au-Prince, a key obstacle to helping people home.

All donated funds will be used as unrestricted funds in conjunction with support from international or multi-lateral donors across all of our programs and support services, all of which work together to Help Haiti Home.
