OUR PROMISE
With your donation, we promise you that:
- Not one penny of what you give will be spent on salaries
- Your money will not be spent on administrative costs
- 100% of your donation will be spent on saving or bettering the lives of abused, orphaned and injured bats, and conservation efforts for wild bat colonies.
In case you need more reasons to donate:
Consider this - bats are clean, gentle and intelligent, they are vital to the ecosystem, and they enhance our lives in many ways. Fruit and nectar bats bring us approximately 450 commercial products and over 80 different medicines through seed dispersal and pollination. Up to 98% of all rainforest regrowth comes from seeds that have been spread by fruit bats. Insect-eating bats are literal vacuum cleaners of the night skies, eating millions upon millions of harmful bugs. They protect us by eating insect-pests that destroy crops as well as insects that cause human disease. Without bats, Mother Earth would cease to be healthy. Through ignorance and misconceptions, we humans have done a lot to harm to bats over the decades. It's time we undo that damage and pay them back.
Bat World Sanctuary is on the front line to end the abuse and destruction of bats. Each year we rescue thousands of bats that might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, confiscated from the illegal pet trade and retired from zoos and research facilities. Bat World Sanctuary was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, all volunteer organization with 20 rescue centers nationwide.
Please see our youtube rescue videos and our facebook page to learn more about our "on-the-ground and in-the-trenches" conservation and rescue efforts for bats.
And if that weren't enough!...
Our Vice President Dottie Hyatt, pledged that if we place in the top three green charities, she will dye her hair green. This is not a joke, her "greening" will shared on youtube, and we'll do our best to match the green color of the donate button located 7 inches up and to your right ;)
UPDATE!
Another reason to help! With a simple donation, you can now have an autographed photo of the world's most charming bat! (And yes, she really did "autograph" her photo.) Simply include the words "Peekaboo please" with your donation. Click here to see this amazing animal, and learn more!
