Our story...
Last year our merry band of misfits decided, on a lark, to support the wonderful Stratton Foundation (more details in the final paragraph) and draw attention to Southern VT's other super-awesome mountain, Magic. We raised almost $8,000 (2nd place), four of our team members ended up winning our age categories in terms of most vertical feet skied, and our team won first overall. In 2018, we decided we'd be back with a vengeance (but some of us, still recovering from frostbite last year, will not be going for the max distance)
An Event On the Snow & Of the Heart
Helping Vermont Children & Changing Lives
The 6th annual 24Hours of Stratton is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, for all ages and abilities, to ride around the clock, as Stratton lights-up its trails for the weekend, to end hunger and poverty in Vermont.
Hundreds of winter enthusiasts from across New England will gather for the Saturday morning parade and official 9AM START. Ski All Day & Ride All Night until the Sunday 9AM Finale! Ski under the stars, camp out in the base lodge, enjoy fireworks, music and giveaways, relish first tracks at sunrise, and share in the spirit of the event that CHANGES LIVES.
Since 2013, the 24 Hours of Stratton has welcomed nearly 2,000 athletes and raised ONE MILLION DOLLARS for the Stratton Foundation to make a powerful and lasting impact on poverty in Vermont, making it an experience you won’t soon forget.
Vermont is a great place to visit and enjoy all the beauty of the mountains and changing seasons, but long winters, high cost of living, and seasonal employment makes it a challenging place to raise a family. Up to 80% of Vermont children live at or below poverty, with limited resources. At least 1 out of every 3 families depends on food pantries to feed their children, and the rural geography limits access to health and dental care. Unfortunately, the cycle of poverty can persist over generations in families where education and health is too often a lost priority. Please join us to raise money to fight children's poverty and hunger in Vermont.
