THE STORY:

Inspired by Sophia Bush - who has decided to run for the Gulf, I wanted to be a part of this movement and great event.

This is my way of showing I care deeply about one of the causes that gets the most attention here on Crowdrise these days, because I care about YOU guys.

I have very little money at the time, but I'm saving up for a $50 donation and in time I'll get a signed pic to remind me that I was part of this fundraising!

Even though I usually focus more on human rights causes, no problem in this world is separate from another, they're all connected. And as I mentioned, this is also my way to show respect for something so many people here on CR care deeply about.

I was also going to be one of the runners, but a good 6 weeks in to my work out plan I have now suffered tendonitis and can't walk on my left foot at all. It's extremely painful, and though I know it will soon pass (my doctor was very helpful), I was told that if I keep running it will just come back. I have an education to think about and can't take any stupid chances, so I have to call my running off. It makes me extremely sad, because I love setting goals for myself and reaching them. But my favourite TV show once told me that "sometimes the beauty is in the attempt". I've come to love running and it has kept the serious problems with the oil spill a big part of my everyday life. And that is the most important thing here, remembering the Gulf and making a difference. Not my ego. Soon, school starts, and when I recover I'll be back strong with the sport I love the most - my dancing. So far, I haven't suffered any great injuries there (knock on wood).

Now it's time for that $50 donation so I can look forward to a signed 8x10!
