I started my first project in May 2010 for my son Jamison, to benefit the Tourette Syndrome Association. I was and still am astounded by the lack of education and high tolerance for ignorance surrounding this neurological disorder. I have found in less than a year I have reached more people than I ever imagined. Even more important, they have touched MY heart more than they will ever know. JJ and I have received a tremendous amount of support and new friendships since posting our project page. We continue to try to raise awareness and correct the perception of Tourette Syndrome.

Each and Every Project I am a part of holds a special place in my heart (proof that I do, indeed, have a heart) but I would like to take a bit to focus on my latest: Project Cuddle
For about 15 years now I have been trying to help spread the word on the option of adoption and to not just focus on the babies, but the expectant mothers as well. They, after all, need the prenatal and postnatal care as well.
Being an adoptee, myself, I believe both mothers and babies deserve the chance at life.
Debbe and Project Cuddle help make this happen for expectant mothers who feel alone and helps them to see that there are options. An unwanted pregnancy does NOT have to lead to an unwanted baby and Abandonment should never be an option. I want to help open hearts and minds as to circumstance of each situation and to let these women know there is hope in adoption for their babies. They will grow to thank them later!

Without my teams and all of the generous, kind-hearted people on crowdrise, we would not be where we are today. I would like to feel a bit responsible for the awareness that is spreading about Tourette Syndrome and that JJ is breaking the stereotypes of TS as well.  Dont forget to check out all the amazing Crowdrise members and their projects
