Minnie’s Food Pantry is a 501 C3 charity that provides healthy, nutritious food and red carpet treatment to every person we serve in the community.
Imagine waking up one morning with your child or sibling hungry and crying for food next to you; and you can do nothing but look into their eyes and apologize because you do not have the money to provide for that need. You cannot say it to them, but they can feel you. It doesn’t ease the pain for them or for you. In fact it is heartbreaking to see your loved ones suffer like that. Millions of families in the United States are living through this every moment, every single day.
Hunger breaks you from within. It hurts physically and mentally, and most of all emotionally. The thousand small humiliations you face every day while fighting for the most basic need; food, turns into a fight for existence before you know it. The four meals that you enjoy every day is somebody’s dream. While you are dreaming your next vacation or your next home with your friends, someone else is dreaming of being able to buy their child a box of cereals. While you hastily swallow down the last morsel of breakfast as if it was getting in the way of your life, someone else out there is hoping they can get a chance to eat breakfast one day. Such is the stark difference between needs and wants in our times.
And while there may not be much you can do directly to help them, you can help give them a meal or support their families in getting basic nutrition by making a donation of whatever amount you can. While a larger amount does guarantee food for a greater number of people, every dollar counts, as Minnie’s Food Pantry tries to buy food at subsidized rates to feed families with the donations that caring, responsible adults like you make. You can be the difference between a child going to bed hungry and a child going to bed full. You can be the difference between a family eating breakfast and getting the basic energy they need to work and provide for the family, and a family suffering from malnutrition and a resultant decline in everyday energy to do any meaningful work. It may be a dollar for you, but for someone out there, that dollar is SURVIVAL, it's three meals. Make your dollar someone’s survival. Deep in your heart you will always be happy with this one decision. The family that receives food from your donation will appreciate you, and like they say, the good you do always comes back to you, in some way. We hope you will make a difference today, and if you do; give yourself a pat on the back, because thanks to you, someone is going to eat a meal today.
