Hi! The Magdalena Friends of the Library are having their annual fundraiser . We help the Magdalena Public Library, which is in New Mexico, in a multitude of ways, including building refurbishment, sponsoring events, conference expenses for staff, updating utilities and appliances, and whatever else may be needed. Our village government is very small and can use all the aid we can supply. Our library is housed in a historic, but very drafty, old Santa Fe Railroad train depot. It is filled with lots of character, as well as characters! Our area abounds with Old West stories and history and our library includes the Boxcar Museum which houses many interesting artifacts. Besides offering the services of most libraries ours also is the source for most, if not all, cultural, historic, and musical events in our village. It is a wonderful asset to our community. For the fundraiser we are raffling off a Richard Rogers knife. The model is an Axiom featuring blue/black frag pattern G10 scales, a blade that is CTS-XHP, and a stonewashed finish. The knife retails for $650. The raffle tickets are available for $5 per ticket or 3 for $10. 100% of proceeds goes to the F.O.L. which is a non-profit. Information needed is your name, phone number or email address. I will place your info. on as many tickets as your donation warrants. The raffle drawing will be on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
