HERE'S THE STORY:
When the earthquake struck Haiti in January of 2010, it devastated this small island nation. Today, the Haitian people still struggle to recover and much of their infrastructure has not yet been rebuilt.
Last year, I went on a long run and raised a lot of money with the generous support of all who donated to my charity, Random Acts. Around $30,000 of that money went to Haiti.
We used part of the money last year during a trip to Jacmel, Haiti. We rebuilt a dental clinic, refurbished an orphanage with earthquake damage and we took down 1600 tools to supply a carpentry school that we helped start up. That was a great beginning.
Now we're going back. And we would love for you to come with us!
In June, Matt Cohen, the Random Acts team and I are going to take a group of 40 lucky people to Haiti for a week to help build a community center.
This community center will act as a school and a microloan center. It will also house some of Haiti’s hungry and homeless children. We will also be building a self-contained, fresh water fish farm that will provide the children with a sustainable supply of protein.
