My name is EJ Scott. In 2003 my younger brother and I were diagnosed with a hereditary degenerative eye disease called Choroideremia. Choroideremia attacks the peripheral vision and slowly erodes it over time until total blindness. My grandfather went totally blind in his 40s and my mother, aunt and sister are all carriers. 7 years ago my sister had a little boy who also has Choroideremia. Three years ago she had a three year old, he has not been tested yet. 

The money donated is going to a foundation that helps fund professionals dedicating their lives to finding a treatment and a cure for this disease. They are confident there is one that just needs more funding and time. But time is an enemy of people with Choroideremia. The more time that passes the more sight is lost. 

This year I am running 12 marathons in 12 states in 2012. One per month. In hopes of raising about $144,000 by the end of 2012. Please donate and help get the word out. All your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
