BENEFITING: Bat World Sanctuary
EVENT: #STARTARYOT Challenge
THE STORY:
In the past four years dozens of bat zoo exhibits have closed, leaving hundreds of bats in dire need of sanctuary. Sadly, many of these bats end up in the exotic pet trade where their 25 year life expectancy is often cut short to less than a year. Some spend the remainder of their lives in tiny bird-cages in a living room, while others end up in cramped, filthy cages in basements or roadside zoos.
Bat World Sanctuary needs to expand in order to take in more of these helpless animals, before a worse fate befalls them. We have the land and almost enough funding to lay the foundation and purchase the steel building. However, we still need the funds to complete the inside of the facility which will include expansive indoor-outdoor flight enclosures for the bats. Please check out the video on the right to see bats who have already found peace and happiness at BWS.
Thank you, so much, on behalf of the bats who still desperately need your help.
